For the month of May 2021, the Duanesburg Historical Society will receive a $1 donation from each purchase of the $2.50 reusable Community Bag at the Hannaford store located at 11140 Western Turnpike, Esperance NY.

The COVID 19 Pandemic has changed our daily lives and may do so for several months to come.

Therefore, the Duanesburg Historical Society is suspending our monthly meetings and all activities until the ban on group meetings has been lifted and confidence in your safety has been restored.

At our last General meeting we determined that our remaining 2020 program year will be cancelled.  Restrictions on group meetings, cleaning protocols and the safety of our membership were all determining factors.  We will be ready in the spring 2021 to reevaluate the COVID19 situation and are prepared to start a new program year, if advisable.

Please reach out to friends and neighbors who are not connected with us through our email list to share this message.

About Us

The Duanesburg Historical Society was formed in 1944 for the purpose of discovery, preservation, and dissemination of our local history. Governed by a Board of Directors, we hold a provisional charter from the New York State Department of Education as a private corporation for educational purposes as defined in section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

The Duanesburg Historical Society provides well attended high-interest monthly programs (March through December) at Bishop Scully Hall in Delanson. We collect and archive memorabilia and documentation specific to the Town of Duanesburg so that evidence of our heritage will remain in the town for the future. We have several books available that share both stories that recapture memories of life in Duanesburg and insightful research about the historical events of our town.

Please become part of the collecting, sharing and learning about the history of your community.
